Materials: Made from enameled stoneware

Care: Dishwasher and Microwave Safe

Completely free of toxic heavy metals (like cadmium and lead) and carcinogens found in other, less robust, ceramic forms.

Disclaimer: This product is handmade by a ceramist, one at a time. As such, they're all unique in their own ways and you might spot a small fingerprint on the base, or the imprint of the grid onto which they were placed when fired. Please note that these are the mark of true craftsmanship.

Based in Montreal, Canada, Gus founded his brand Gharyan Stoneware after meeting with the collection designer, Nelson Sepulveda whose work's been featured for years with luxury brands; HERMES, LE BON MARCHE, DOSA, KHADI & Co, CARAVANE… When Nelson got the opportunity to conceive and create something unique, his goal was not only creating the product but most importantly the image and ethics of the collection. Investigating not only what to produce, but how to produce it. It's like a design made by Nature. Sourced from the Cap Bon peninsula in Tunisia, GHARYAN Stoneware starts its life as pure, mineral-rich clay fed by the azure depths of the mediterranean sea. As an area steeped in the deeply ancient tradition of pottery, expert craftsmen have passed down thousands of years of pure artistry to the artisans that continue to create these stoneware pieces today. At Gharyan, they believe in sustainability and fair trade. They only work with partners that share their values. All of their products are made in Tunisia where it's guaranteed that we collaborate with people that work in decent conditions: Social insurance, 8 hours work/day, 5 days/week, enrolment with the Tunisian National Labour Union, safe work conditions, and no child labor.
